1. Scope and responsibility
This Privacy Policy applies to the private ikEssentials TEMU Sales Tracker available at sales4ikessentials.pages.dev (the “Tracker”). The Tracker is operated by ikEssentials in Ontario, Canada.
ikEssentials is responsible for personal information under its control. The owner of ikEssentials acts as the Privacy and Security Lead and can be contacted at the address in section 11.
2. Information we handle
The information handled depends on what an authorized account user enters, imports, or verifies.
Information not requested by the Tracker
The Tracker does not require a customer phone number or customer email address in its normal sales form. Authorized users should not enter unnecessary sensitive information in the notes field.
3. Sources and screenshot capture
Information may come from an authorized user, an Excel or CSV import selected by that user, or a TEMU order screenshot that the user uploads, drops, or pastes into the Add Sale form.
Screenshot capture is designed to extract and present the purchase date, recipient name, shipping address, estimated revenue, estimated total shipping cost, and quantity for review. The screenshot is processed in the user’s browser and is not saved with the sale. Extracted values are not applied until the user reviews and confirms them.
If an authorized TEMU API integration is enabled in the future, relevant order, product, fulfilment, refund, and settlement data may also be received directly from TEMU, subject to the permissions granted to ikEssentials.
4. Why we use information
ikEssentials uses information only for legitimate business and legal purposes, including to:
- create, maintain, search, sort, filter, correct, import, and export sales records;
- support order fulfilment, delivery tracking, refunds, and reconciliation;
- calculate revenue, GST-inclusive cost, shipping cost, total cost, gross profit or loss, settlement totals, withdrawals, total balance, and available funds;
- prevent duplicate or inaccurate records and investigate errors;
- secure the Tracker, authenticate users, troubleshoot service problems, and prevent misuse;
- respond to privacy requests and security incidents; and
- meet accounting, tax, contractual, and legal obligations.
ikEssentials does not sell personal information and does not use Tracker records for unrelated third-party advertising.
6. Security safeguards
ikEssentials uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:
- authenticated account access using Supabase Auth;
- database row-level access rules intended to limit records to the signed-in account that owns them;
- HTTPS/TLS for information transmitted between browsers and service providers;
- provider-supported encryption for stored database information;
- use of a publishable browser key rather than a privileged service-role credential in the public website;
- purpose-limited access, data minimization, and periodic access review;
- internal data protection and security incident response procedures; and
- careful review of imports and screenshot-extracted information before records are saved.
No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Authorized users are responsible for protecting their credentials, using a unique password, signing out on shared devices, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
7. Retention and deletion
ikEssentials retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and for legal, tax, accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, backup, and security requirements.
Canadian tax and business records may generally need to be retained for at least six years from the end of the relevant tax year, subject to the specific circumstances and legal requirements. Records subject to a legal hold, active dispute, investigation, or contractual requirement may be kept longer.
Uploaded screenshots are not intentionally retained by the Tracker. When other personal information is no longer required, ikEssentials will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to technical backup cycles and lawful retention obligations.
8. Privacy rights and requests
Subject to applicable law, a person may request access to personal information under ikEssentials’ control, ask how it has been used or disclosed, request correction of inaccurate information, or request deletion where continued retention is not legally required.
Requests should be emailed to the address in section 11. ikEssentials may need to verify identity and clarify the request before responding. The goal is to acknowledge and respond within 30 days, unless the law permits more time. If access or deletion cannot be provided, ikEssentials will explain the reason where legally permitted.
A person may also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another applicable privacy regulator.
9. Security incidents
ikEssentials maintains an internal process to identify, contain, assess, document, recover from, and learn from suspected security incidents. When required, ikEssentials will notify affected individuals, TEMU, service providers, regulators, or other authorities in accordance with applicable law and contractual obligations.
Anyone who believes Tracker information has been accessed, disclosed, changed, lost, or used without authorization should contact ikEssentials immediately.
10. Changes to this Policy
ikEssentials may update this Policy when the Tracker, its service providers, legal requirements, or information practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate additional notice when required.
